The Cabinet Economic Coordination Committee has approved a Ramazan Relief Package worth Rs 8.3bn to help the people during the holy month.
The meeting of the Committee was held in Islamabad in the presence of Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, who had pass the approval of the package.
Nineteen necessary products will be distributed to individuals at subsidized rates through Utility Stores Corporation around the country as part of the package.
In Ramadan bazaars, a 10 kg bag of flour will cost Rs. 375. 13 goods, including potatoes, onions, and tomatoes, will be offered in agricultural fair price shops for 25% less than the regular market price.
From the 25th of Shaban to the 27th of Ramadan, Punjab will host 317 Ramadan bazaars. Ramadan bazaars will open at 9 a.m. and close at Iftar. The Bazaars will be turned into Eid Bazaar on the 21st of Ramadan.
The Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) is expected to approve the signing of debt relief pacts worth $232 million with ten G20 members and a Ramazan relief package total of Rs8.3 billion on Tuesday (today).
